SUN-DOR-CO Door Sills
The door sill is a sloping frame part located at the bottom of the frame.
We offer both wood and aluminum types of sills. With the exception of
the HYDROSILL™, all sills may be ordered with the brickmold or casing
extending down along side the sill or perched on top of horns that extend
past either side of the jamb leg.

Solid wood sill
Our
solid wood sills are made of White Oak or Genuine Mahogany and glued
for
width with waterproof glue. We chose to use White Oak because it is far
superior to Red Oak, which has open pores and has a greater tendency
to
rot. Wood sills have a built-in threshold to help prevent water infiltration.
Notice the sill has horns on each side of the jamb leg for the brickmold
to perch upon.
Aluminum sill with adjustable oak threshold
Metal sills are more durable and the adjustable threshold helps
provide a tighter seal across the bottom of the door. This photo
depicts the brickmold running along side of the sill.
Available in mill finish (aluminum color), dark bronze and gold
anodized finish.

HYDROSILL™
The HYDROSILL™ sill provides a dam across the opening and
has a canal below the aluminum sill to allow any water that might
have passed around the seal to flow to the outside of the building.
The Schlegel Company, the same company that manufactures the original
Q-Lon® , Door Seal, makes this type of sill for both in-swing and
out-swing applications.
Available in mill finish (aluminum color)and dark bronze.

Deluxe all-vinyl and aluminum with adjustable threshold
Unlike metal sills with wood on the bottom side, all-vinyl and aluminum
sills have no wood to rot like sills that have a wood base with an aluminum
cover. Each deluxe sill is furnished with a protective cover to prevent
damage during construction.
Available in mill finish (aluminum color), dark bronze and gold anodized
finish.
